Houseperson - Kahana Falls Resort

Job Summary:

To ensure guest satisfaction and safety by providing efficient and courteous servicing of guest requests, and maintaining guest service and public areas in good repair. Maintain maximum cleanliness by wise and efficient use of tools and supplies.

 

Reports to / Supervision Received:

  1. Manager: Suzie Moore                                        
  2. Direct Supervisor: Vernon Kanaha
  3. Indirect Reporting Relationship: Agnes Erorita

 

Job Expectations:

1.   Abides by established policies and procedures, house and departmental rules, safety rules, grooming codes, and security procedures. When approached, extend the “Aloha Spirit” to all owners and guests.

2.  Reports any damage, theft, and discrepancies of the resort or guest property and supplies immediately to the supervisor.

3.   Reports immediately to supervisor and submits as soon as feasible all found articles.

4.   Exercises correct safety measures when using any equipment and tools.

5.   Uses only cleaning supplies and implements designated by supervisor.

6.   Maintains all equipment and tools in a clean and workable condition, stores all properly.

7.   Adheres to scheduled work hours. Is punctual in reporting and gives notice to supervisor if he/she cannot meet schedule to ensure person-hour coverage as arranged.

8.   Follows any change in schedule as directed by the supervisor on duty.

Essential Functions:

 

1.   Assists guests with the transport of luggage, food, and possessions as requested between rooms and to and from the lobby.

2.   Alerts supervisor and/or front desk of any suspicious persons in the guest area.

3.   Stays in constant communication with supervisor via pagers, telephone, and work orders.

4.   Reports to supervisor all maintenance deficiencies encountered in work areas.

5.   Stocks linen cart at beginning of the shift and keeps cart neat and clean.

6.   Keeps all trash picked up in working and public areas; keeps planter boxes clear of trash and water.

7.   Responsible for his/her maintenance of uniforms and nametag.

8.   Operates washers and dryers by department standards and methods.

9.   Vacuums all carpeted public and services areas, including wall/ceiling fixtures or other areas requiring the use of a vacuum. Maintains, cleans, and extracts moisture from all carpeting as required.

10. Keeps linen and storage closets neat and clean. Return all extra items from the linen closet to the storage closet. Restocks all linen closets with toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, etc.

11. Transports clean or soiled linen to and from rooms and housekeeping.

12. Upon check out gives guest units, including kitchens, general cleaning as instructed.

13. Attends meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among company employees. Promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.

14. Washes all Mirrors and Windows in rooms as needed.

15. Sweeps and mops unit floors.

16. Performs other duties as required.

 

Knowledge, Skill, and Experience:

1. Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:           

  • High school diploma or equivalent

2. Minimum Experience required:                          

  • 1+ year in a related field

3. Skills Required:

  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
