Housekeeper

Department: Housekeeping
Office: East Canyon Resort
Location: Henefer, UT

Job Summary:

To ensure guest satisfaction and safety by providing efficient and courteous servicing of guest requests, maintaining Resort’s cleanliness standards of: general area buildings, condos, and housekeeping areas. Have efficient use of tools and supplies. The Resort prides itself in the level of personalized service we provide; staff is to maintain a high level of integrity and service to always attend to our guests’ needs in a professional manner.

Reports to / Supervision Received:

  1. Manager: Housekeeping Manager
  2. Direct Supervisor: Assistant General Manager
  3. Indirect Reporting Relationship: General Manager

Job Expectations:

1. Display a pleasant, professional, and guest oriented attitude at all times.

2. Understand the importance of guest communication and satisfaction.

3. Properly maintain equipment used and operate in a safe manner.

4. Understand the safe use of all cleaning supplies.

5. Comply with resort and department codes, policies, procedures, and regulations.

6. Consider and understand guests/guestrooms security, privacy & comforts.

7. Be willing to participate in team efforts and communicate with fellow employees.

8. Develops and maintains excellent inter-departmental communications concerning unit quality, including housekeeping and maintenance.

Essential Functions:

  1. Enters and prepares the room for cleaning
  2. Dusts the room and furniture, vacuums carpet, and mops floors
  3. Cleans bathrooms, removing soil, dirt/soap build-up, and hair from the bathroom mirror, vanity, sink toilet, shower walls, bathtub, shower curtain, and floor
  4. Replenishes guestroom and bath supplies: facial, toilet tissue, and bathroom amenities in correct amount and location
  5. Cleans closets and door tracts on check-out rooms, removing dust and debris and ensuring the correct amount and placement of hangers, extra blanket/pillow and luggage rack
  6. Removes dirty bed linen and makes the bed with clean linen
  7. Performs rotation cleaning duties (e.g.,steam-clean carpets, spring cleaning, super cleaning, etc.) as required
  8. Performs minor maintenance duties such as changing light bulbs, filters, etc.
  9. Anticipates guests’ needs, responds promptly, and acknowledges all guests, however busy and whatever time of day, maintaining positive guest relations at all times
  10. Is familiar with all resort services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
  11. Attends to and resolves guest calls, guest requests, and guest complaints.
  12. Monitors and maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
  13. Authorizes to enter in guestrooms for cleaning and providing turndown services as per requirement
  14. Follows the standard operating procedures
  15. Achieves and exceeds the guest satisfaction score
  16. Assists other team members, ready and available to step in at a moment's notice
  17. Updates status of rooms cleaned on the assignment sheet
  18. Returns and restocks cart at the end of shift
  19. All other duties as assigned

Skills Required:

  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
